Personally, I think the body is all that there is, so once the body is dead that is the end of that person. Which is a bit of a sad thought, but people also live on in our thoughts and memories.
The only way I can think of reincarnating someone is to make a clone of them, which you could do as long as you had their DNA. But even though a clone would have the same DNA, it wouldn’t have the same memories or experiences, so it is not really the same person.
If somebody dies then all of them is dead from a scientific point of view, the only way to bring that person back would be to restart their body or maybe take their brain and put it into a working body which could maybe be a copy of their own body (Have you ever seen The Island? I’d recommend it).
We think that our personality, everything that makes us us, is kept in the brain so maybe that would work and maybe their brain could cope if the new body was a copy (a clone) of the old one. The other option would be somehow saving their personality onto a computer before they died and then living life as a robot or putting their personality back into a body again.
All of these options are complicated and have never actually been done and if you’ve ever seen Torchwood: Miracle Day we might not want to do it either.
