Hello and thanks for the question!

Fortunately I don’t have any haters (not that I know of, anyway). There are lots of people who don’t like science and think it is boring or nerdy, and it can be hard to keep enthusiastic about science when you are with them. But now that science is my job, I’m surrounded by people who have very similar interests and we are working together to answer questions that might be able to help people in the future.

So I guess my advice for dealing with haters is not to worry about them – if you keep working on what interests you, eventually you will end up in a position where the people around you are just as interested in it as you are.

I don’t have to deal with many haters these days. In the past I’ve just ignored them because they don’t have a clue what they are talking about. Think it’s just important for them not to affect what interests you or what you want to do in life you’ll soon find a group of people who think the same way you do

Every now and then someone gets very fired up when I say I work in nuclear power, but once I explain I’m trying to make it safer they calm down. A lot of my co-workers are really really into alternative energy sources, we’re actually a bunch of hippies with physics and engineering degrees.

Best way to deal with all the haters is just to ignore them and carry on focusing on your thing, working hard and being awesome! This will get you far in life, whereas haters are just going to hate and get no work done and they will end up losing.. If you know what I mean!!

      Haters gonna hate.
I love what I do – I find it interesting and think it’s important. So I let the haters do their thing, and I do mine!
