      Thanks for the question!

I don’t think my experiments are very unusual. There are a lot of labs who do similar kinds of experiments to my lab.

I do work with animals, which some people disagree with. But we treat animals with respect and take good care of them, and they help us to figure out things that can help people suffering from diseases and animal experiments are very important for making new medicines. All of the experiments we do involving animals have to be approved by a committee who decide if the experiments are fair and ethical.

My use of radiation is well established and generally accepted by everyone, some people are worried about exposure to radiation but they usually don’t know alot about radiation and we’re all afraid of the unknown.

Sometimes we try out some new methods as part of research, to do this I have to prove its safe and then I have to ask the patient if they are happy for me to use this new method. My new method usually involves using the scanner in a different way. We make progress by trying out unusual and different methods because if we find that they work well they become normal and used all the time.
