      The short answer is we don’t know yet for certain.

      It is possible according to our theories and we have found evidence that supports these theories. Theoretical physics has been proven to predict many things that we later confirm with experiment, you might have heard of the Higgs Boson? That was purely suggested by theory before the LHC detected it. So maybe there are other universes as suggested by theory but we might not know for sure until we find a way of detecting them.
