      It depends on how complicated it is. There is a general rule that the amount of time you will have to do it will never be enough 😀 . I have written programs that took from 3 months to 3 hrs to make. My research is an ongoing program that we keep extending and it is going to last for 3 years in total. Hopefully less if I am lucky. Sometimes we make the program and we test it we find that it has so called “bugs” meaning in general it works but under circumstances it is giving the wrong answer so we have to “debug” it. That is also a long and difficult task especially if the program is big.
