        Hi and Happy Friday!

Right away, I want to make batteries that work on alcohol that will last for a week to a month. I hate charging my phone all the time, and I think anyone who feels the same way will benefit.

Later, I want to be able to make chemicals from renewable resources. You know how we make alcohol from barley or corn? We can make many more things from the parts we throw away. We’re learning how and getting better all the time.

        Chris

        Hi. Great question, thanks.

We are running out of antibiotics that are effective. This might mean that getting a cut or having a baby could be really dangerous in the future. The same for any operation as if you got an infection, doctors might not be able to treat it. So hopefully the work that I do will help lots of people to get better if they get sick.

        Hi!

I hope that my PhD research will help scientists develop devices to improve the life of people who have diabetes.

Also, since at the moment I’m a teaching assistant, I hope my work will help my students pass their exams.

        Jess.

Hopefully loads of people, in my PhD I work on understanding at a really basic level. This should help other scientists in the future to develop new medicines in the future.
