      Or if you mean who was the first scientist, it was probably the ancient Greeks who observed the world in a systematic way like scientists do now. Calling any scientific historians!

      I would say that it was the first human beings. We are all scientists. We investigate things and use trail and error

      I had to check this out. Wikipedia has a huge list. The oldest ones on it were 110.

      In terms of age, the list Chris posted is really useful.

      If you want to know who was the first scientist, I agree with Andy: the first hominid who went “hey, what’s going on here? I need to look into this!”, was a scientist.
