Question: what made you want to get a PhD?

I always wanted to do a PhD but I wanted to get some experience first and make sure I chose the right subject. If you work in an academic environment, PhDs are still highly regarded and they are a great opportunity to be fully responsible for all aspects of your work. You get to plan the work and do it and then write it up, it’s totally all your project. I think it is one of the only times in a scientist’s career when you are totally free to do what you want!
