      Hi everyone!

More than one favourite part, because I do a lot of teaching too.

Research: I love it when a plan comes together! There’s nothing like the joy of finding out something new, whether you planned it (‘I knew it!’) or unplanned (‘Eureka!’)MATOMO_URL

Teaching: When I see someone who gets what I’m teaching.

      Chris

*No one really says eureka! Mostly it’s ‘Huh, that’s weird… I wonder why?’

      Hey, thanks for the question.

I really like the fact that I get to do lots of different things all the time. We are a bit of a mad bunch in my lab and we get to shout out our ideas and do lots of experiments all at the same time to see if something works.

It’s hectic sometimes but we find out new things all the time and it really keeps things interesting.

      Hi!

My favourite part of being a scientist is when, after working for a long time on an experiment, trying to improve it, repeating it many times always making small changes, I get a good result.

My favourite moment is definitely when I discover something new. Sometimes you’ve been working on a problem for months an then it suddenly all comes together. Sometimes it’s completely unexpected, but for a tiny moment you are the only one who knows the new discovery. Then I’m so exited I go round telling anyone who will listen how cool it is.
