Well, i suppose ‘organic’ chemistry tends to be concerned with making things out of carbon, nitrogen and oxygen. Most drugs, cosmetics, cleaning products and loads of other things around us, are made from these three elements (mostly). Inorganic is then everything else….using all the other weird elements and in particular, the metals in the periodic table.
Honestly, I don’t think this distinction of organic, inorganic and physical chemistry is that useful…it certainly doesn’t help students. They start to think of them as separate subjects but really its all linked.
