I am a microbiologist, so on a basic level, that just means I work with microorganisms. It is a bit of a vague title because it can mean lots of different things in different work places! In my current job, I grow bacteria and then try to kill them with antibiotics. Microbiologists can work in hospitals testing people for diseases, or can research bacteria, viruses, parasites or fungi!
I am also a lab manager which means I look after the lab and the equipment and people in it. I am responsible for health and safety and making sure we have all of the things we need to be able to do our experiments.
