      Hi!

It’s not mandatory for a chemist to learn the periodic table by heart.

I know about the properties of the elements according to their position in the table and I know a lot about some elements and where to find them in the table. I had to learn all of that very well for my first exam at university.

      Jess.

      Hi Kieran
When I used it a lot when studying chemistry, it took about a week of practice. I would fill in a blank periodic table, then check it. Now I don’t study as many elements, so I’ve forgotten a lot of the ones towards the bottom 🙁

      Hi

I’m a biologist, so I don’t need to know it either but I seem to remember having to remember the groups for my chemistry GCSE!!

I still don’t know it! I have it on the wall just behind my computer though!
