        Hey

I don’t know if I mentioned this in our chat, but try making a Charpy tester and using it to look at which candy bars handle impacts best. We use Aero bars, Kit Kats, Lion bars, and Mars bars.

I have only just heard about it…thank you! I will get thinking. I am already booked to do a talk at “nerd nite” in London in May which is a similar sounding event but is not only for sciences.

        Hi!

There are so many topics you could tackle in your society.

On this page they have experiments that you guys could try using things that you could bring from home. No fancy instruments needed.

Another suggestion, each one of the members could pick a science themed topic, a new one you never talked about in school, but you think it’s really cool and interesting, and you make a poster to present it to the rest of the group. If you are planning to be scientist in the future, this could give you an idea of which science you’re most interested in.

        Jess.

Check out the STEM club network http://www.stemclubs.net for loads of ideas, and maybe get a local scientist into your school!
