Big Data Zone

Mapping ocean colour with ESA satellite data | esa.int image gallery

We live in the era of computers and Big Data. Computers help scientists model complex molecular structures, develop new weather forecaster models, or work out the details of the building blocks of life through sequencing genes. We can try to understand out how disease spreads using computer models of millions of people, or recreate the brain using computer networks.

Scientists in the Big Data Zone will all be using computers and data in a range of areas and industries, from biology to astronomy, particle physics or meteorology.
