There are a few theories as to why we have dreams. One is that it’s a way to help us learn – our brain goes over information while we’re asleep as a way of making sure we remember it.

The word dream has to do with the condition of the brain. An active brain temporarily shuts down like a computer at night by a condition called sleep which is enhanced by chemical transmitters in the brain called Serotonin that is responsible for sleep and mood. When the brain is in sleep mode, it reboots like a computer to ensure all information stored in it is still there. This rebooting system is called Dream and it puts together all the information in our mind. We dream at least 5-6 times each night and hardly remember any of them at times.
