• Question: What would say to people who don't believe in climate change?

      I’d say they need to read up a little more on exactly what climate change is, what causes it, and what evidence we currently have to support it occurring.

      For example:
      – increasing global levels of carbon dioxide
      – increasing average global temperature
      – decreasing arctic ice coverage
      – warming oceans and increasing sea level
      – extreme events (e.g. high/low temperatures)

    Thank you for answering! I do get in to arguments with many people on climate change and a lot of the time they are unable to give good, justified answers; I think that’s because the theories are very clear! It’s just like people who believe the Earth is flat (but this time, a more serious case). I’ll probably say the things that you would say in the future (if only we could convince Donald Trump)!

    You’re welcome 🙂 I agree with you – the theory itself is quite clear and a lot of the evidence is difficult to disagree with. Great to hear that you’re engaging in scientific discussion with your peers though!

    Like Alex says, there is lots of evidence, and a scientist balances evidence. Very little is ever proven in science, but we would say there is a fair chance we are changing the weather.
