The surgical studies I do with humans involves making sure they get enough anaesthetic drug to put them to sleep and then wake them up with another drug after the surgery.
I don’t do the dissection on humans, I only watch and while the surgeon does his thing, I collect blood samples at different intervals to monitor the anaesthesia, to ensure that the patient is not getting an overdose.
I was shocked one day when a woman had surgery on her reproductive organ to remove a damaged portion revealed in the x-ray. But when the doctors opened her up there was nothing wrong with her so they had to close her up again. For the whole day, I was sick and in shock.
But with my animal studies, I have to take my feelings out of my job to ensure that I do a proper decapitation and dissection of the brain. In surgery you cant be scared otherwise you may not get a license to carry out your job. Strong Heart
