      HI
The type of polymer and the way in which the rope is physically made all combine to make the rope durable and stretchy. A bungee rope would not be suitable for use as a climbing rope, or vice versa. The properties of the polymer that you would need to consider are strength, durability ( will it keep on bouncing after multiple uses) how the rope is braided, and stiffness of the polymer. All factors influences by the size of the polymer when it is being made.
      Good question
