Question: Do you think that if a particle accelerator exploded it could cause an explosion of dark matter into our atmosphere and potentially alter the human DNA?
I don’t think so – the explosion itself would cause a lot of damage and could potentially release some radiation which would be harmful to people close by.
The amount of matter spinning round those machines is tiny. If it got out it would fly off in a straight line and pound into the earth / equipment. Its all in a vacuum, implosion is not so bad

what if a part was broken or the accelerator was poorly constructed? Or what if it was a new accelerator that failed?
