      That’s a really interesting question and one that was solved by a really famous scientist called Isaac Newton.

      Newton was the first person to describe the law of gravity. This law says that two objects should always attract each other.

      The bigger the object the stronger its pull. The further away the two objects are the weaker the pull.

      So actually, we are pulling the Earth and the Earth is pulling us! But the Earth is sooooooo much bigger than us, it weighs 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 as much as do! So its pull is much much much stronger than ours. This is why everything gets pulled down towards the Earth.
