• Question: what will cause the world to end?

      Most probably (if humans do not destroy the earth themselves first, which is always a possibility) the world will end when the Sun will come to the end of its life.

      When the sun runs out of fuel, it will expand and become a Red Giant. When it does so, it will eat up the Earth and everything will be incinerated. This will take several thousands of years, and well before then everything will die because of the extreme heat.
