Incredibly, most of the Universe is invisible! Only 5% of the Universe is made of the same stuff you and I are made. 25% is made of something called Dark Matter — perhaps a new type of particle that nobody has seen so far, but that is massive and can be observed in the cosmos because of its gravitational pull.

70% of the Universe is made of something even weirder, that we call Dark Energy. What Dark Energy is, nobody can tell for sure for now. All we know is that it is making the entire Universe become bigger with time at a faster and faster rate.

So there is 95% of stuff out there we don’t know anything about! And that’s why we need to keep studying it. We think that we might be about to actually discover dark matter in the lab. and that would be a real breakthrough!
