Complex question. I don’t really align with all the policies of any single party. I’m appreciating a lot of ideas which the Green party are coming up with at the moment. I’m definitely pro-EU.

I’m definitely not liking the Conservatives.

Politics is a big part of Public Health, because we look at how society is organised and whether that helps people be healthier or not.

I don’t like what the Conservatives are doing at the moment, because this is making society less fair and equal. They are also taking a lot of money out of the NHS, which hurts my research – I have wasted three days this week when I could have been doing research on trying to find a computer which is good enough to run the software I need – any computer made within the last four years or so should do it, but all the computers in my department are at least ten years old.

So my political views are quite left-wing, because I am in favour of sharing resources more equally. I usually vote either Labour or Green, depending on which party has the best chance of getting in.

My views are a little weird! I do not trust politicians as I think they are only looking out for themselves in the short term. I do however think we need to actively comunicate with policy makers as they are slow to react to big emerging situations. We have told them about antibiotic years for almost 20 years and it is only now they are beginning to respond when the situation is too big to adequately control. There is much that can be done to improve the communication between scientists and politicians and I hope we can acheive this. I really don’t care about which party as they are all rather self centred from my view point.

Not conservatives, labour, lib dems or UKIP I think they’re all useless. Definitely not BNP or Britain first, I tend to either burn there leaflets or put them in the bin. I’d align myself with some green party policies but mainly I’m a plaid cymru supporter but they only campaign in wales.
