Memory is an interesting thing, I don’t think anyone is 100% sure how it works but it’s not my field. I think memories can become distorted with time. I regularly forget what I had for breakfast or if I had it!

I think it is. I’m sure that even the next day our memories of events change and as time moves on we remember things the way we want to. In that way, eventually the memory is so different from the actual event that it isn’t really what happened anymore. I’m sure this is a good thing when I think about all the totally embarrassing things I’ve said and done over the years ?

Yes I think it is. I feel like I have memories of things that happened when I was a child, but I’m pretty sure I only know about them because my parents told me. Brain injuries can also affect memory in unusual ways, which could include the formation of false memories.
