      Hello Lucytweddell,

If I could, I would choose to develop a new antibiotic to kill fungal infections. There are only a couple of antibiotics–they’re called “antifungals”–that work on fungus, and diseases caused by fungi kill more than a million people every year, that’s about 150 people every hour of the day. Although fungi grow slower than bacteria, they can also become resistant to antifungals. It’s an area of research that needs more study.
