• Question: Why the metabolisms reactions happen inside the cytoplasm?

      I’m afraid I am not a cell biologist. But cell metabolism happens inside the cell and cytoplasm fills most of the inside of cells except for the organelles like the nucleus.

      Metabolic reactions require certain substances and systems that are available in the cytoplasm. Just like cooking a specific dish can only happen with the right ingredients and in the kitchen where the correct utensils are available.
