Because there is so much to learn – we’ve been on this planet a very, very long time and we still know very little about it. Nature is incredibly resilient when you give it the chance and the solutions nature had evolved to deal with life’s problems are amazing.
When you’re watching or waiting for one animal you end up noticing so much more about their environment – rare animals that you would not expect to see might walk out in front of you. You see how the landscape changes through the day and in different weather. And you feel you get to know the animals you are studying.
Nature is absolutely beautiful, especially when it is relatively untouched by humans or unaffected by the presence of humans. I think being able to be close to nature is just one of the most special things in the world. Especially when you think that some of the animals or the views you are seeing may not even be here in a few years time. It makes the time even more precious! I also find nature extremely relaxing, it allows me to escape the minor stresses of day to day life.
hmm, because of everything. I’m deeply attracted to beauty and I find nature beautiful. The colours, the diversity of habitats and ecosystems, the diversity of life and regarding animals, the diversity of behaviours they exhibit. Nature is an endless source of inspiration as well as my quiet and relaxing place.
An iconic saying: ‘We have no wifi in the forest but we promise the best connection (with nature)’.
That’s exactly what I feel when I’m in the tropical forests, gone for two weeks, no humans, no loud cars and people shouting, just full of life, the ones we depend on for our survival.
The fascinating aspects were the diversity of life and the amazing behaviour and forms of animals that you experience. From the calls of the birds and the gibbons to the colourful flowers and insects, these are things one wouldn’t experience in the city. Moreover, one gets to breathe the freshest air, shower in the freshest cleanest water, embrace the coolness of the forest and watch the glimmer of sunrays through the leaves.
