I’d buy my house outright so that I didn’t owe anyone any money. Then I’d go travelling – back to Japan and to New Zealand for a start. Then I’d give the biggest donation I could to a worth-while conservation charity targeting the most at risk species. That’s not what my research is about but I really care about it.

I would pay off my own and my family’s debts, home loans, that sort of thing. Then I would take a year off to go travelling and take a number of courses I’ve been wanting to take but haven’t felt I have the time to do it. Finally, I would invest the rest of the money to make sure it lasted and gave me and my family some security for the future.

It depends how much I won. If it was £10 I might buy something nice for dinner. If it was a million pounds I would leave my job and just to the fun bits of science without all the paperwork. I might write a book. And I might move to Canada. Time to buy a lottery ticket…

Ooo interesting question! I have never actually thought about it – I guess because i don’t play the lottery I have always somewhat limited my chances of finding out what i would do if i won!

I haven’t been on a proper holiday in a long time so i think i would treat my Mom, sister and I to a nice holiday. I always think I should buy a house but actually I live at home, our house is paid off, and I am really happy there so I am not sure if I would! I think then i would set up a bunch of standing orders to charities which mean a lot to me – conservation charities but also things like cancer research, air ambulance – all the boxes i normally put loose change into! And finally i would pack my bags and head off on a fab little research adventure. I think having spare money would give me the freedom to go and do research all over the world without ever filling in another research grant application again, bliss!

      Ooo nice question

First, donate some of the money to conservation
Second, create more games and videos
Third, buy a house for myself lol
