Definitely developing the skills of communicating my research, does this answer count? haha, its not really a ‘scientist’ accomplishment.

Nevertheless, I love sharing my research using videos and games. Have a look at them:

Getting a competitive scholarship to study for my PhD at Nottingham Trent University. Some days I am not sure how I got it when I was up against so many amazing candidates but without it I wouldn’t be in this competition and I wouldn’t be doing my study.

Getting my PhD because I don’t have a scientific background from school or my undergraduate degree so I had to catch up with everyone else and learn a lot. I loved every minute of it though and learnt more than I ever thought possible. I also submitted it on time which is actually really hard to do, so I was proud of that too.

I like to think my greatest accomplishment in science has been to inspire my students to seek a career in academia. <more important that discovering exciting things is to teach others the scientific method, how to "do" science and to instigate in them the curiosity and the desire to become scientists themselves. I've also discovered a few very cool things, but the greatest please is in sharing my love for science. 🙂
