I think slugs get a hard time but when they eat one of my lovely plants I have to work hard to remember its not their fault. Like everything on earth, they’re just trying to survive and doing what they’re evolved to do!

Nothing much really, although there were some giant ones in Sweden that looked a bit… yuck. I’ve never had a garden though, so I haven’t had problems with slugs.

When i was a kid my Mom told me i used to love slugs… in fact to the point where i used to get very excited and say ‘ug, ug, me like ugs, ug on me’ before i then pestered her to ‘let the slug sit on my knee’. I don’t have quite that level of relationship with them now… i think the speckledy ones are pretty cool, but i probably wouldn’t invite them round for dinner, or indeed let them sit on my knee!

Slugs look horrible and eat people’s plants. But we would be lost without them – they eat dog poop when bad people don’t scoop it up in parks. Clean pavement? Thank the slugs

haha nice question, especially since slugs eat cabbages.

I think they perform an important role in ecology as many animals like birds and badgers feed on slugs. In terms of slugs, I am not really put off by their slimy squishy nature, not that I want to touch them either haha
