That’s hard because some bits are more fun that others. I love teaching 10/10 but don’t find marking so fun 3/10 (don’t tell my students I said that). For research, when I get to pick what I’m doing and how we’ll do it 10/10 absolutely

To be very honest, it depends on what I’m doing on any particular day. I love planning and conducting experiments (10), and I love finding out what the results are (10), though the process to get there isn’t always very fun: processing sound files/videos, entering data into spreadsheets, running statistics, these get a 4/10. Overall, I rate my work a 9/10. I just wish I were still doing some field work.

I think an 8 overall. Much of it is intersting and some bits are really amazing which makes up for other parts which aren’t. I’m not very keen on paperwork or marking but I love being out in the field doing reseearch and I love talking with my students

I think a 10! I am really lucky in that at the moment I am just doing my research project so everything i do is related to that, and i obviously like it very much because i chose it 🙂 some bits i enjoy a little less such as emails but as a brief summary – i get to watch elephants, write about elephants and talk about elephants – i eat/sleep/breathe elephants – what could i possibly not love about that 🙂

Definitely a 9 overall for me. 8 for the research because of the need to write papers and find money for the research and 10 for the teaching because I enjoy playing games with students and helping them understand difficult concepts.
