• Question: how long can fish live without water?

      I think this depends entirely on the fish species – ranging from a matter of minutes to actually months! I guess it depends on how they breathe 🙂

      Not very long – as long as their gills are wet they can absorb some oxygen but once those dry out they can’t breathe so can only last as long as they can hold their breath. Makes you think about fishing, where they aren’t killed when they’re caught but just suffocate.
