0 Question: Why are some rabbits ears up and some down? Keywords: ear, individual, rabbit Asked by twtp to Charlotte, Jo, Kevin, Louise, Valeria on 18 Jun 2012.

Wild rabbits do not have lop ears, lop eared rabbits has been selectively bred.
Wild rabbits/non lop eared rabbits may put their ears flat if they are scared but the ears are not floppy

well because when they r happy they would have their ears up but when they sad or hurt they would have to have their ears down to tell the owner of the rabbit people who look after it to know that the rabbit is sad or hurt
Jo commented on 22 Jun 2012:
Yes that is a reason for rabbits that are not a lop eared breed 🙂
