• Question: why are blob fish so ugly?

      They live at the bottom of the ocean under extremely high pressures in total darkness! Pretty unique circumstances – their ‘blobby’ appearance helps them cope with the pressure and they are white due to the darkness (many animals that live in darkness are white/see through)

      They clearly have a face only a mother (or a zoologist) could love.
