• Question: Do you think cloning will become a standard medical procedure with humans and animals in the future?

      This is mostly down to a matter of personal opinion, but I do believe so. When the science becomes so advanced that it is a cost effective practice, I believe it will become commonplace.

      I think there will be a lot of people objecting to cloning “larger parts” .. As we’ve already managed to clone whole animals, it will be hard to draw a line. But I certainly think that artificial creation of new organisms (or parts thereof) will become commonplace.

      I really hope not but I suspect it is only a matter of time, hopefully not in my lifetime. It is the ultimate aim though isn’t it, that and real androids … some scientist somewhere out there is thinking about it.

      After I wrote the above I remembered that I have read somewhere that it had been tried and I have managed to find a site which mentions that there has been a claim but is pretty sure it has never happened…

      Although while looking I also found this article about a Doctor who claims to have cloned 4 human embryos but none of them survived the pregnancy and as it is online I would treat it with caution:
