      Hi rebalistic,

To become a professional scientist, you need to go to University and get a science degree, then you’ll probably need to do a PhD, a 3-4 years research project of your own where, at the end, you write up all of your work, and a couple of professional scientists read it, question you on it, and decide if you ‘pass’, at which point you can get a job as a research scientist.

      Hello 🙂

Any science related degree can potentially give you the chance to work in research. Going for a PhD is not necessary at all (there are lots of job as research assistant or lab technician), but it is advisable if you want to proceed in your career and become a group leader. Good thing about the PhD is that you can do it any time so start with a bachelor in a science related field and that would be enough to make you start 😉
