      Hi Andy_B,
This is a GREAT question, and I’d love to know if you have any ideas.
As the antivenom I want to make is going to be using the proteins which snakes use to protect themselves, I had a look if there were any words or phrases which could easily convey that meaning. At first I looked at names for strategies used by the military, to see if any were a reference to using an enemies defenses against them. Surprisingly I couldn’t find any!
Next I looked at Greek mythology (thinking along the lines of the story of the Trojan horse), but couldn’t really find any. However, I have a friend who is Greek and asked him and the first thing he suggested was Medusa. In case you’re not familiar with the myth, Medusa was a monster with snakes for hair and if she looked at you you would turn into stone. That is until one day a hero called Perseus defeated her which he did by using a shiny mirrored shield, causing Medusa to look at her own reflection and turn herself into stone. Hurray!
I quite like this one, the snakes for hair and using a shield to defeat something fit quite well, what do you reckon?!
