Most of the time we use: cells, antibodies, gels (acrylamide gel), milk powder, water (lots of water), media (stuff you grow cells in). We only need a few materials and we can change the experiment to look at lots and lots and lots of different things inside cells. Sometimes we use these things called plasmids to make the cells do something, so at the moment we are using plasmids to silence (like turning it off) a gene in our cancer cells.
Sometimes we will use special equipment to do experiments, like flow cytometry or cell sorting machines (FACS), and machines that do different types of PCR.
