Question: what intrigues you about science?

What intrigues me about science is that it is the only way we can advance our understanding of the world. Science is the reason we know there are thousands, possibly millions, of planets in the universe. Science is the reason your mobile phone can send messages to other mobiles on the other side of the world. Science is the reason you didn’t die while you were being born. What science does is it allows us to test questions in a way that means we can be confident that the answer is correct and not due to chance. I think science is the most powerful tool we have as humans, because it means we can test ideas (we call them hypothesis) like ‘protein A kills cancer cells’ and we can do the scientific experiment to find out if that is correct or if it is down to chance. And if it’s correct then that might mean we can use that in people to help them fight cancer.

Science is wonderfully beautiful because it allows us to answer the most important questions in life.
