• Question: How do surgeons reduce the level of bleeding during an operation?

      Hi spacenut, that’s another great question! I’m not a medical doctor, so I don’t know the specifics – but I do know that they sometimes use something called a haemostat, which is basically a clamp that they use to put pressure on a vein and slow the amount blood from coming out of it. Hope that answers your question, sorry I don’t know any more details!
