That’s a great question. The simple answer is, it depends! But let me elaborate.
There is a lot of evidence to suggest that men in particular who are in long term relationships live longer than men who are single. However it’s difficult to tell whether women benefit from this. This is because women tend to live longer than men anyway, and if the male partner in a relationship passes away, and the opposite number is female, the woman often lives for a lot longer.
There are lots of arguments for why this might be. Women tend to have larger networks of friends and therefore cope better after the death of a pratner is one argument.
This evidence is only indicative of heterosexual partnerships however, I don’t no what research has been completed within the homosexual community.
