In general, nanotechnology relates to the manipulation and use of materials at the nanoscale (typically 10-100nm). It’s a very large field of science and engineering research.
So nanotechnology has an important role in the development of clean energy technologies and cleaner fuels. For example, carbon-based fullerenes and metal oxide nanotubes have been investigated in the important field I mention in xmas Lecture 3: energy storage and lithium batteries for portable electronics and electric vehicles.
