Real. Vaccine is not a scam

Covid was real. Vaccines are not a scam. There were news media claims that weren’t accurate all the way through the pandemic about the vaccine. Those claims were used as ammunition by people that believe vaccines are a scam. Its an important lesson that the news media covering scientific topics should fully understand what they are talking about before reporting to the general public.

COVID is definitely real and the vaccine is not a scam. Robbie makes a really good point about the part played by the media. Vaccines usually take a lot longer to develop mainly due to funding issues. A lot of money was ploughed into vaccine development and trials to get the vaccine deployed as quickly as possible.

COVID was very, very real, and the vaccine is not a scam. Vaccines take a long time to develop, so what was portrayed in the media was literally science as it happens. Scientists found things that they thought worked, and some things that didn’t work quite so well. There were lots of claims that weren’t accurate, and as Robbie said, these were used as ammunition by people who think vaccines are a scam or don’t work.
It’s definitely an important lesson that people covering science in the media should understand what it is they are talking about before reporting on it.
Covid was real. The vaccines worked, and they have saved thousands and thousands of lives.
