It’s a mixed bag really. On the one hand, you have loads of cool things like Iron Man which glamorise physics and probably get people interested. On the other hand, it also probably portrays scientific advances that we simply haven’t made yet. I’d say the positives outweigh the negatives though, because anything that gets people (of all ages) interested in science is good in my opinion!
I think Hollywood is doing great in medicine and science fiction, coming from me who is a Doctorate student at a school not far from Hollywood. (California Intercontinental University)
I get to see what is currently impossible in medicine by watching movies like Greys Anatomy. However, there are some negatives, but overall they do a god job.
